This gravy goes perfect with these butter biscuits.
Ingredients
2 TBSP unsalted butter
At least 4 ounces pork breakfast sausage (we use the Whataburger brand, because TEXAS!)
3 TBSP all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole milk (or whatever you have in the fridge)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper (or more if you'd like)
Directions
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and add the sausage, breaking it up with a spoon as you cook it until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
Add the flour and cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes.
Slowly add the milk, whisking until the lumps are gone with each addition. Then add the salt and pepper.
Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the gravy is thick enough to coat a spoon.
Serve over butter biscuits.
